Well I finally came around to doing a blog on our New York City trip! David Julia and I drove up with our buddy Jake Sites! well he did all the driving...i thought i was gonna puke a couple times because he likes to weave in and out of the streets..and plus it's new york city...it was just crazy...i swear to you it was a blessing that we didn't get hit! that was the least fun part. when we got there we automatically experienced life in the subway! haha oh man...that was wierd..it was smelly and there was some really strange people! A bunch of times there were people just getting on to give a show...a guy came on with his keyboard! HAHA he was the worst singer ever and well you couldn't do anything but listen and laugh! First night we didn't do much but grab a bite at Dunkin' Donuts..we got there pretty late and we weren't up to doing much that night! next day we went all out! David, julia and I were on our own in NYC! We went to TImes square, ToysRus, virgin records, Ground Zero, St. Patricks Cathedral (that was my favorite...absolutely gorgeous..haha except we mighta poked a little fun with that one), Statten Island Ferry to see the statue of liberty from a distance..its the cheap way, Little italy, central park, Empire state building (although we didn't go up b/c it was $18--rediculous--i think that's it! There was a bunch of white tents and vendors on one street...that was really fun--we don't know what the occassion was for but that was fun! We couldn't have picked a better weekend to go...the weather was gRRREat...windy and cool! For lunch we went to "famiglias" famously known for their pizza...ahh man the best pizza ive had in a long time..lots of famous people go there because their pictures are on the wall! By the end of the day we were absolutely exhausted and glad to finally reach the apartment (Jake's Aunt let us stay there) it was small but perfect enough to sleep...although the mattresses were really uncomfortable (david can attest to that). Saturday night was wierd for me because i woke up with my lower back in really bad pain...i have no idea what caused it...but it caused be to be in tears and i wanted to go to the emergency room it was so bad but instead had david give me a blessing! I took Bayer and within an hour i was able to fall asleep again...i was so thankful..because i've never had pain like that before! Sunday...julia david and i were so lazy we didn't attend church and just rested more and slept! sunday we drove home and once again i had to experience jake's driving...this time i chose to put my head down! but thankgoodness we got home safe and sound. I thought i would need more time in NYC...but i think we were all really glad to be home! By the way those are julia's feet after a day in NYC...nasty!!! goes to show how dirty the place is!

Laura, thanks for posting that sounded like you had a great time. I want to go to NYC so badly. Rob needs to take me there...although I think the only places he has ever been in NYC is dark allies hahah! Shhhh he doesn't have to know i said that. The pics. are great. Next time you go we all need to go. I love you and miss you...so hurry back to utah! Also i enjoyed your videos on facebook! :)
So many pictures! That must have taken like a day to upload all those pics. Thank goodness for the new fast internet connection! Man, I wish I could have been there with you guys. It's so much fun to just let loose in a big city for awhile. Sounds like you guys did alot even on a tight budget. And yes, Julia's feet are butt nasty! I mean, it looks like she was walking around barefooted. I miss you guys and can't wait til August.
Okay, one more comment! Those pictures are good. Laura must have brought her camera. The Empire State Bldg. one is the best. Good light and shawow. And, yes, the cathedral pics are sacrilegious! Just j/king, just j/king ...
