We vote for Myles Martin!!! Lol poor Rob, I mentioned to Paul the same thing Aymee said. (sorry!) When its spelled with a Y I don't even think about that.

How are you narrowing down the names? Any special meanings or relation?! What are both of your middle names?

I have to say Miles. But I am more traditional with names, I'm not really for the trendy versions. :)But some people are, and that fits with their family! Jade is my only one with a name that's a little "beyond" tradition. But her middle name makes up for it, it's much more classical. It's a hard call, it really depends on the meaning, (if there is one), or if it's just because you like the name. I would say, if you chose it just because you like it, with no background meaning or anything, go for a more unusual spelling, if that is what you really like. But if there is meaning behind it, stick with the original spelling? That's just my opinion. I have noticed that traditional spellings are much less common, so in the future, it will be more unique to have those kind of names. Plus they have a kind of "vintage" feel to them. But what do I know, Myles might be a traditional spelling in another country for all I know! :) Sorry to ramble on and on! Good luck!!!

OKAY! Here's the opinion that counts!! Hehe! Being in education, I have seen maaaaannnny different names and spellings. Unusual spellings can be challenging for both the kids and their teachers. Whenever I think of a name starting with Myl, I think of Mylie Stymist who was a girl. I really like Miles better because it is more identified as masculine. BUT, I will be happy with whatever you decide. (Aren't I diplomatic?) I can't wait to hold and love lil Myles/Miles, whatever, when he comes. Now, here's the rest of the family:

Julia: Miles
Katy: Myles
Dad: Miles
Chris: Don't know, he's at work

Thank you mom..your opinion does count. I guess we are making a bigger deal of this then we should, but we both feel so strongly about our choices. I will try my hardest to let Miles grow on me so we will see. We have 8 weeks to make a final decision. Maybe when he comes he will be an obvious "I" or "Y" Love you all!

From Baby.com they have Miles Davis the Jazz Muscian. Myles Cloverdale translated the Bible into English in the 16th century. Miles is the Latin form and Myles is the English form of the same name. It means "a soldier, merciful". I like those two meanings combined. Either way it is a good name. (I liked Myles, myself, but either will be great.)
