They're Gone and I Feel Stupider!

It seems that a lot of Martins are going into surgery lately. First Matt and now myself. But mine I believe is much, much worse. So on Wednesday. the 13 of August, I went into surgery to get my wisdom teeth yanked out. And this is how it happened.....

I lay down and they actually strap down my arm to put in the anestisha. So they put that in and the doctor comes in and starts asking me about cocktails and of how you make one. I try telling him that I don't drink. But the sleeping kicks in and i am out like a light. What seems like a few seconds later the nurse is shaking me to wake up. I'm thinking "Hey wait it's only been like two seconds, has something gone wrong? Are you canceling the surgery?" I try asking them this but all they hear is gibberish cause my whole mouth is numb including my tongue. So i can't talk at all. Mom and Julia come in and while they are talking to the nurse Im trying to get someone's attention to tell me what is going on. At this point i haven't realized that its been almost an hour since i went under and that im all done. So the nurse and mom try to get me to the car, but all i want to do is sleep, so im falling all over the place. Mom then looks at me and what i think is yelling, tells me that i have got to focus and concentrate on getting to the car. i say yes, which sounds like nothing even close to yes, but she gets the message. We head out to the car and i just slump over in the back seat. i then think that this isn't getting me anywhere. So i sat up and at that moment my favorite song comes on, "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis. And i start singing to it. Julia is laughing so hard at me that she actually almost pees her pants! I'm swaying back and forth and trying to sing, but its not working out too well. Mom thought that it was ironic that i was singing a song called BLEEDING Love which is what i was doin at that moment. But anyway thats my story. Now i am healing and smiling more and more every day. Everyone at home has been really helpful. Mom has of course been mom and been such a wonderful comfort for me. Julia has been VERY eager to help me and make me as comfortable as can be. Chris as always has been the big brother. Always wanting to know how i feel. And he even patted my back in comfort when i was puking as a reaction to the medicine (which im not taking anymore). And Dad has been a real help also. Everyday when he comes home he always makes me smile. Even when it hurts. He is a major upliftment in my day. <3
Anyway here are the pictures.

i agree mica...you pull those ice packs off wonderfully! You are hilarious thank you for sharing that horrible experience with us. I have never had my wisdom teeth taken out but if I ever do I will know what to expect now. I laugh to picture you mumbling and talking with no one being able to understand b/c to me thats normal katy talk hahah. Also I love your warning...miles didn't see this and you better believe your future husband will see these ;P you have too many siblings to be able get off that easy.

Katy, that was a very funny retelling. It made me remember mine, which made me laugh out loud. Glad you are on the mend.
