My Dream Concert!

O Baby! This was a good show. I could not pass up the opportunity to see, live in concert, my favorite vocalist of all time. This guy has had 13 albums in his career divided up amongst 3 different bands not including himself as a solo artist! And he played songs from just about all of them! It was amazing to hear him sing songs from albums that came out 17 years ago! And then some! He even covered Michael Jackson's Billie Jean! That was really cool. He opened up the show with a huge grin on his face and just fed the energy of the crowd with the song 'Spoonman' followed by 'Outshined'. Then he continued to play songs from all over his spanning career. Everything from Temple of the Dog, to Soundgarden and Audioslave. It seemed that he was happier now than times past. His recent breakup with the supergroup Audioslave seemed to have set him free in a way, and we could see it in his face. Chris is an entertainer for sure. He was having the time of his life, one could tell, as he had three encores! It was halfway through the third encore that Staci's fragile little body began to give way to the agonies of standing up for 3 hours straight. I guess I didn't notice as much because I was no less than 10 feet from one of the founding fathers of my musical generation!!! So I escorted her to the casino where she could rest and went back in for some more!!! For those of you who are fans, Chris and his new band (who are really really good) must have played more than 20 songs. It was a 2 hour set (no opening band) that included the songs Like a Stone, I am the Highway, Black Hole Sun, Cochise, Show Me How to Live, Be Yourself, and You know My Name (from Casino Royale), just to name a few. He also played a bunch from his new solo album, which comes out on my birthday. He sounded just as good as he did when I first bought a Soundgarden CD oh so many years ago. I'm so glad I was able to finally see a show from at least 1 remaining member of one of my most favorite bands of all time.
