A Bit O' Ireland
So, I have a few minutes on a laptop to post. By the way, I've loved all the posts people have been making recently. Thanks! I can't wait to read them when I have more time.
Well, I'm in Cork, Ireland. We just finished the last concert for the Cork Ireland International Choral Festival. We got two pries: second place overall and the PEACE prize (which is apparently awarded to the most uplifting choir ... isn't that sweet?). Here are some pictures. The first one is me and the other tenors singing in the beautiful cathedral. I'll get pics of that later for you. The second one is the outside of the cathedral where we sang. The third is a pic of touring the city with friends. This country is beautiful! And so old. I thought the east coast had some old stuff but that ain't nothing compared to the Emerald Isle (nickname for Ireland). And the last two are pictures of the Cork City Hall where we competed. It's a gorgeous building and is almost as old as our country!
I hope you're all well! I'm taking lots of pictures and looking for cool stuff to bring back. By the way, (the men will appreciate this) one of the choirs sang "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana for the competition. They're from Poland. I loved it. I couldn't help but throw up the horns when they started singing. Also, this is the first time I've been away from Mica so we're both kind of struggling a little bit. Thank goodness for SKYPE which lets me chat with her. Also, I brought my palm pilot so I can email her little messages about how we're doing. But I miss her so much! When I get back we'll be celebrating our one year anniversary! I love you sweetheart. I miss you!
