Semi-Professional Matt

I recently asked a friend of mine to take some professional head shots of me with his pretty cameras. I thought it would be nice to have a high quality picture of myself in case I need it for applications and such. So my friend and his wife showed up Tuesday morning with two poster boards and a reflector. They used the poster boards and reflector for some sweet lighting.

Now, I need your help. Take a look and let me know what you think. At first, it was so weird to see professional pictures of myself and I actually didn't like any of them at first. But here are eight shots that I like so far. Let me know which are your favorites. My friend said that he would be willing to retake the pics. By the way, this is my friend's hobby. He's not a real photographer but he's got some nice equipment. Personally, I like most of the shots but it seems like my head got cropped off too much. But the lighting is nice. Let me know what you think!

I love this..ok I def. like the 2nd group of 4 best. I actually like the 1st one out of that 2nd group but needs to be brightened up a lil like the other ones and I wish your head wasn't cut off either. I just like your smile in that one. Either that one or the one below it.

by the way you are so handsome and your eyes are really nice in these pics ;)

Yeah. I agree with Stac. The one to the right of the 1st of the 2nd group would be a good second choice or a pic for an application to the FBI or something. Man, these pics are REALLY up close and personal. I've known you your whole life and I found things I've never seen before. Things in your soul.

Man, these pics are so funny! Ok, check this: the very first pic is if Matt was about to say: "That's nice."
The second one looks like he just got kicked in the nuts. The third one actually looks pretty good and genuine, maybe he was looking at Mica. The fourth one looks like he's thinking, man what smells so good? The fifth one is the fav cuz he's rockin that smile scar. The sixth is pretty GQ like he's thinking, yeah, I'm the shiz. The 7th is actually pretty good and the last one is like, Ok, are we done yet? Haha, I just had to tease a little 'cause Matt just deserves it for these pics.

Haha! I love your comments. And I think you guys are right on. The 2nd group has the better shots. Rob I think your comments are hilarious because I only think of two expressions: smiling and non-smiling. But there's so much more to me ...

I think then that I may have them redone just to keep my head from getting cut off and also to pull the camera back a bit so it's not up my nose. Thanks for your comments!

Haha.... I agree with rob's comments 100%. The one that I would have to go with is the 2nd one on the bottom. If only it were pulled back just a hair...ok, a BIG hair, enough to see your other shoulder and your part in the hair. The part is what really tells the history of a man, like if he showered and brushed his hair that morning. Yeah yeah, truly! It just looks most professional. A smile can always be shown later on in person.... but that's just me.

I think I enjoyed your brothers' comments more than any of the pics. I suggest doing them again. These are good, but they could be better. You blue-eyed darling!!

i'd go with the 2nd group, in the left bottom corner. everything else looks really good. but this one is my favorite. but if i had to choose i'd do them again. like how mom said, it could be better. i looked at the pic of you and mica on here and you look better. maybe next time you take them you should have mica in the room! :)

I think the top left pic in the second group looks the most professional. The pose, angle, lighting, etc... is kinda similar to a head shot I saw of Brian Prescott for his acting portfolio. That's the seller!

I vote for the top left picture in the second group as well...the only problem is your head is cut off...but it is perfect.
